This is my main file server PC it's a Compaq Proliant 1600 server PC.
Here are some Photos of it.
This server has 2 x Intel Pentium III 600MHz CPU's each with 512Kb Cache.
1024 Mb (1 Gb) RAM
5 x 145Gb Seagate Barracuda Ultra 320 10K RPM (80 pin) SCSI drives set up on a Compaq S.M.A.R.T 2-DH RAID array controller, this makes it ideal for a music / video server as files are accessed very very quick.
1 x DVD R/RW Dual Layer and 1 x 52 - 32 - 16 CD-R/RW drives, for when I want to burn a CD for the car or even my home movies to DVD.
Matrox 32Mb PCI video graphics card, old card I know but server has no AGP slot and the onboard Cirrus Logic (16 colour600 x 800) is crap, so it a much welcomed addition to the server, now it's 1280 x 1024 @ 32Bit colour yay (o:
I added a USB 2.0 PCI card as it did not have any USB ports at all.
Netelligent 10/100TX PCI Embedded UTP/AUI Controller and Compaq PCI NC3120 Fast Ethernet NIC interfaces very very quick at shifting data over a network.
Now sit down for this, it has a Creative Labs AWE 64 Bit Gold ISA sound card, but it sounds excellent though my amp and it was a expensive card back in the day when people wanted one with DOLBY Digital coaxial output for gaming. 1994-1996.
Also has a Compaq management screen fitted in the front (not may do as this was an optional extra) to alert you of any alarms / faults.
Running Microsoft Windows XP Professional, and Office XP Professional.
Home to my home cinema files and music that can be accessed from PC's I have attached to my LG 50 inch Plasma TV and Sony CRT projector for media streaming.
Currently unit is 8 +years old, some hardware and all hard drives are less than 2 years old.
Other accessories that are used on this server are:
Samsung SyncMaster 940N 19" TFT monitor, silver & black.
Compaq black and silver keyboard.
Microsoft USB optical mouse.
Oki 8c laser colour network printer.
Home network is 16 meg ADSL (over copper) using Netgear D845GD Sky wireless router / modem with 4 ethernet ports.
